Tournament Bracket

Position Rank on Tournament Bracket

When a tournament bracket is created, the rank of each position on the tournament bracket is automatically determined.

If you conduct an automatic lottery, seeded players are assigned starting from the highest-ranked positions on the tournament bracket. If the number of players is not a power of 2, byes are assigned starting from the lowest-ranked positions on the tournament bracket.

You can select from several patterns for determining ranks at each position on the [Tournament Bracket Creation] scene.

[How to Assign Position Ranks]

Common Method

[Common Method]

Position ranks on the tournament bracket are determined using a common method.

  1. The very first position is rank 1.
  2. If higher-ranked players advance, a higher-ranked player face a lower-ranked player.
  3. If higher-ranked players advance, they face opponents with the most widely separated numbers possible.

[Official Rule of Tennis]

Position ranks on the tournament bracket are determined using a official rule of tennis.

The following points differ from the [Common Method] case.

  1. The positions for 3rd and 4th place are not as far as possible from 2nd and 1st place, but rather as close as possible to them.
  2. Positions corresponding to specific ranks will be determined by lottery.
    • If the number of entry slots is 16, the positions for 3rd and 4th place will be determined by lottery.
    • If the number of entry slots is 32, the positions for 3rd and 4th place, 5th through 8th place, will be determined by lottery.
    • If the number of entry slots is 64 or 128, the positions for 3rd and 4th place, 5th through 8th place, 9th through 12th place, 13th through 16th place, will be determined by lottery.

[The First Round Is at the Back]

Position ranks on the tournament bracket are assigned such that the location where the first round takes place is positioned at the back.

*Regarding players ranked 5th and below, even if higher-ranked players advance, it will no longer be the case that a higher-ranked player face a lower-ranked player.
